Telit Sat 550
Il terminale Telit Sat 550 è dual mode ovvero consente di
effettuare e ricevere telefonate in tutta l’area di copertura
del sistema usufruendo della rete mobile GSM (ove disponibile)
e della rete satellitare Globalstar dove il servizio GSM non è
disponibile. In corrispondenza del lancio di Globalstar previsto
entro il mese il mese di novembre, il servizio sarà single mode,
ovvero solo Globalstar con SIM Elsacom o solo GSM con SIM standard
di un qualunque operatore. All’inizio del 2000 verrà aperto il
roaming sulle reti GSM (unica SIM).
L’utilizzo
di questo terminale è estremamente semplice: da un lato offre
tutte le funzionalità di un comune telefono GSM e, dall’altro,
tramite un semplicissimo menù nel quale operare un’unica scelta,
permette di usufruire delle potenzialità messe a disposizione
dalla copertura della rete satellitare Globalstar.
Nelle
comunicazioni effettuate attraverso la rete satellitare è importante
il corretto utilizzo dell’antenna che risulta determinante per
poter beneficiare del servizio Globalstar. In generale per consentire
le comunicazioni satellitari l’antenna del terminale deve essere
sempre sollevata dalla propria sede ed in visibilità dei satelliti.
I collegamenti satellitari offrono la migliore qualità se effettuati
all’aperto.

The
range of accessories
The
SAT 550 is extremely portable and convenient, due also to the
available range of accessories. For example, the car kit allows
comfortable use of the Dual Mode terminal while driving; the live
voice kit includes complete support of a battery charger, loudspeaker
and external antenna for both satellite and GSM 900 use.
Accessories
range also includes a car battery charger (12V), an elegant lather
case, a Lithium-Ion battery and the Data Terminal Adapter providing
Data/Fax transmission as well as Internet connection on the GSM
network at a speed of 9.6 Kbps.
